We'll settle down right here in town

Watchmen :) Intro - Watch more Funny Videos

My neck really hurts and Alyx is over watching some Mad Men. It's nice to have relationships with people where you don't constantly have to entertain. I'm going to play some Mario RPG right away.

Last weekend Ty & I watched "The Watchmen" and I was blown away. I'm a fan of movies based on comic books and this wasn't any exception. It was well-paced (though sooooo long --that's what she said), interesting, has a wicked soundtrack and one of the best opening sequences I've ever seen.

I fell in love, though we had to pause a few times for tea and snacks and other stuff.

My Winnipeg peeps should know that the "Dine About Winnipeg!" event is happening, delicious three-course meals for $25 or $35 a pop (depending on the restaurant) from Feb 2-11, so if you happen to be livin' here check it out, I know some of us will be!

During the week I came home and found a cd in the mail! I've never received a mixed cd or even a cd I didn't specifically ask for, especially not from a boy.

Here's what's on it, it's basically the best compilation of love-y songs ever.

1. William Shatner -Ideal Woman
2. Neil Diamond - Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon
3. Peter Bjorn and John - Young Folks
4. NIN - The Perfect Drug
5. Failure - Stuck on You
6. The Beatles - All My Loving
7. Death Cab for Cutie - We Looked Like Giants
8. The Pillows - Beautiful Morning
9. Tori Amos - Enjoy The Silence
10. Strongbad - Meant to Be
11. The White Stripes - Fell In Love With a Girl
12. Lou Reed - Perfect Day

Candice is coming to get me soon and we're going to the gym together tonight.

I'm not gonna lie... I'm a bit concerned. She goes every day and I'm, well, I've gone like maybe four times since I signed up last week.

Hopefully I can move/sit down after this excursion.

Hello darkness my old friend

My grandma used to have one of these dope chair-tables in her house when I was a little girl; I always really liked it and was sort of tempted to take this castaway piece of furniture that some stupid hipster left sitting in the foyer of my buliding.
Unfortunately I don't have the room, otherwise you bet that baby'd be in my living room already.

I also just noticed that suspicious stain on the ground... ew.

So, Friday post-gym, post-shopping, post-lunchables Alyx stopped by and eventually Ty, too, and he and I headed out to Voodoo at Pure.
Tweed. Love.
Outfit as accentuated by these ridiculous boots!
They're much more sparkly and obnoxious in real life I assure you, they were purchased online for something ridiculous like twelve dollars?
I can't pass up ridiculousness at that low a price!
Reegan!
My good friend who's been in Major Moneysaving Jew Mode the last few months and as such I haven't seen him since NYE, what a shame!
It was soooooo good to see him again.
Ignore this crap, everyone else is learning to.
... I'm not sure what he's talking about here... but something tells me I don't want to know.
Adam!
With wicked makeup as Howling Jimmy Jefferson (I think) from The Mighty Boosh!
I need to re-watch that series... so damned good.
This happens also.
Steph and I go way back.
Like.... tenth grade way back. Holy shit.
She stopped in to wish Reegan a happy bday, since my dear friend turned 23 this past Sunday
(happy belated dude!)
The rest of the night is basically a blur so let's leave it at that.
Gym Date with Candice tonight!
I'm not excited to work out harder than I ever have with my Gym Guru and feel the pain tomorrow!!

"Freedom" is just another word for "nothing left to lose"

Last week I signed up for the Y Downtown and have gone twice since which I know isn’t much but it’s better than the Nothing I’ve been doing the last few months.

I totally over-did it on the Elliptical machine though and what was supposed to start off as “a quick warm-up run” turned into me running (or Ellipticaling? If you ask Candice...) for 45 minutes at which point my feet went numb and I was too tired to do any weights. Whoops!

On my first day I managed to become a Gym Creeper because I saw Jabez there but we both were super wary of going up to the other and finding out if we were actually assuming we were the right people
(and I was really red from running, and not up for socializing)
so that didn’t happen. Oh well.
I ran for like 4k, I think? I can’t remember. It was decently far though.

Had Friday off because work makes me take all my vacation time before the end of the year, so I went again in the morning and didn’t overdo it and got some weights in. Hell yeah!

Post-gym and a quick shopping trip with Phoebe, lunch was had at Eat! Bistro, which you might recall Ty & I enjoyed a few posts ago.

Remember how I also said it's attached to a use book store? Check'r out:
I’m a fan of the menus in old books, and the little blurb (in case it’s too small) says this:

“After years of eating off the appetizer menu at all her favourite restaurants, Chef Candace Huges has set out to do something a little different. Some of our food is good for you, some of it is just good. Our menu is full of all the things you like, so forget everything you thought you knew about eating out. Mix and match. Share. Enjoy. And if you want a big hunk of meat, the Keg is down the street.”

Love it!

My lunch:
Cherry tomato, asparagus and brie frittata.
Sooooo delicious!

Candice’s: Curry rice veggie bowl.
Super tasty (I tried a piece of pepper) but I’ve been eating too much curry so I couldn't appreciate it as much as I usually would have.
I always forget how awesome this bathroom is.Check out the sweet fishbowl!:Too cute!!!

Hai friends!!

So, more Weekend Stories to come in another post, I'm starving (and this post took forever), so I'm going to have some leftovers and movie to watch.

A few weeks ago a bunch of us started (and didn't finish) watching The Lovely Bones, and while I can hear it screaming "chick flick" from miles away... sometimes I like a good girlie-type movie.

Plus Stanley Tucci is totally awesome, and I want to see Mark Wahlberg totally lose his shit.
