the latest man in my life

is younger than me. he's only three months old.

we haven't been together very long. only a month and half since he came into my life.

he shows affection is ways I'm not used to.

he climbs on me and sucks on my hair and kneads my neck.

purring.
when I sit on the couch and type on the laptop (like I'm doing now)541462_10152632498670323_77071178_n

he climbs up my chest and hangs over my shoulder

giving me a huge furry hug.

he likes everyone and everyone likes him

just like one of the other important men that I live with

(no, not Ford, silly. Tyrone!)

I'm lucky to have all of them.

they all make me happy all of the time.

but this little sweetheart holds a special place in my heart

even if he does break into my purse and carry tampons around the apartment in his mouth.

you've gotta take the good with the bad, right?

that's it, if I ever have kids

they aren't allowed on the internet.

stole the laptop from Tyrone to write this

which is mean because I'm also using the tv to watch Damages which I'm obsessed with. Glenn Close is amazing and weirdly evil but not and I'm not sure where I stand with her yet other than I like her badass acting.

poor Tyrone has no idea what was going on because I watched a bunch of episodes without him because I'm mean and also he was sleeping. not my fault, right?

anyway I was going to tell you guys a story but he just called me

alysonshanecomputertaker.com.hate

which means it's time to give it back

and

apparently

"start loving him again"

yes our relationship is weird.

my older astronaut crush is good at reddit

maybe it's because he's charming or maybe because he's in space or maybe because he's a canuck like me, I totally have a thing for chris hadfield.

not in the like 'let's do it' kinda way though

but in the like 'let's high five and drink beers because you could be my dad or cool uncle' kinda way

kinda how I loved jack layton

I love this dude

(maybe it's the moustaches?)

anyway the astronaut who makes my heart go pitter-pat wrote a cute little post on reddit today that made me smile:

Hi all. My son alerted me to the thread, and although I'm racing around (the world) today, I wanted to pop in to give my sincerest thanks and gratitude for all the support I've received from this eclectic online community.

The AMAs, general discussions and feedback have all been tremendous. I am genuinely humbled by the response we've had so far. To those who asked questions, provided answers where I couldn't, helped create visibility for the space program or even upvoted a photo - you are actively making a difference. Every little step forward, and every new eye opened is proactive movement towards a sustained and well-supported space program, and thus better understanding of the universe and our Earth's place in it.

Thank you reddit. Sincerely.

all the thank-you's are how you know he's canadian ;)

this makes me really excited for Game of Thrones

is that weird?

next door neighbour

laughs really loudly
watches action films
either has friends over a lot
or has many phone conversations
writes passive-aggressive notes
yell-talks
leaves his nice leather shoes out in the hall
has a bachelor suite
doesn't like when I play my music too loud
but still holds the door open in the mornings
if we're leaving at the same time.

hi.

I should confess

I love sesame street.

a lot of the stuff kids watch these days is crap

plain & simple

but sesame street will always be great

because it manages to still be fun and innovative

clever and cute.

and while it still appeals to kids everywhere

there are moments like these

(and some others that I love)

that are totally for grownups.

Hip Hop Sunday #65 Jay Z - 99 Problems

today's hip hop sunday is for nicole

who let us pile into her car and jam to jay z earlier this week

it's all about the little things in life, kids.

appreciate 'em.

and enjoy

your hip hop sunday.

PechaKucha the thirteenth

this school kid doesn't usually go out on school nights
but nicole and joseph were speaking
and I'll always come out to support cool people

totally worth it.

I've been to a few PKN's but this one was by far the best.

we wore 3D glasses
drank tasty half pints lil scrapper
got a talking-to about legislation
were inspired to create positive change
laughed
cheered
and
listened to good music
(among other things).

afterward yr girl, tyrone, vanessa & jackson jammed to jay z in nicole's car

and I stuffed my face with greasy lil pizza heaven
(because I've worked out every day this week, dammit!)

perfect evening.

here's your friday morning badass

stuff like this makes my life.
